OBSERVING REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 2, 2016

Location:  Front Yard, Little Lepreau, NB

Date Time:  September 2, 2016 2215-2245 hrs

Weather:  Clear, no wind, 10C.

Equipment:  Canon Rebel Xsi 18-55mm and 75-300mm lenses and a tripod.

Attendance:  Myself

Objective:  To view and image Mars Saturn Antares conjunction.

Report:

• Excellent night for observing.  One day past new Moon.  Counted six stars in Pegasus which means a limiting factor of 6.
• Mars is moving far to the east of Saturn and Antares.
• Hercules and Corona Borealis were observed high in the Western sky.  M13 could be seen through the viewscreen of the camera.
• M8 was seen naked eye to the NW of Sagittarius.
• No shooting stars or satellites were seen.
